I took my first Bikram yoga class in February 2010 in Falls Church, Virginia, USA. At the time, I was seeking a challenging form of physical activity that would also enhance my flexibility. Hot yoga sounded like the perfect fit—and it was! What I did not expect were the profound mental benefits that would follow. The heat initially felt overwhelming, demanding not just physical strength but also deep mental resilience. I quickly discovered that the true power of the practice was not just in building a more substantial, healthier body, but in developing a calmer, more focused mind. These mental tools have helped me both inside the hot room and in everyday life.

I completed teacher training in Mexico in 2016. As a teacher, I aim to encourage students to put forth their best effort both during and outside of class. I strive to deliver detailed dialogue with energy and enthusiasm, cultivating a calm space that allows for hard work while also providing pockets of silence for self-reflection. When appropriate, I will share personal experiences, stories, or quotes that inspire students to practice gratitude, live with courage, and act with kindness. My hope is that the students will leave class feeling peace within themselves, ultimately allowing for more meaningful and compassionate connections with those around them. I teach this practice to help others find composure, purpose, and the motivation to live this beautiful, brief life to the fullest.
